Antique French Fruit Picker ladders
Price £195.00
A beautifully aged pair wooden fruit picker’s ladder in a classic tapered shape. Originally used in orchards, it later served as a decorator’s ladder, gaining a rich patina from years of use and remnants of old dripped paint. The original rod that once held the two ladder sections together has been replaced with a thin makeshift metal rod, which remains functional, especially when using them together to create shelving (as per the photos). Obviously, this rod could be replaced with a slightly thicker one if desired.
However, most people now use these ladders singularly as bathroom towel rails or interior design features so I am selling these INDIVIDUALLY. Obviously, due to the nature of the design, one of the ladders is slightly narrower than the other. If you did wish to purchase both ladders and use them as shelving, I am happy to sell the old scaffold boards too so please message me if this is the case.
