Rare Victorian French Mourning Locket Brooch on Velvet/Ex Voto
I am so excited to have purchased this very unusual, rare Victorian locket/brooch from France.
It is dated from the early 19th Century and is a large Locket/Brooch which is mounted on some plush velvet which has gold brocade trim all around. I have been told that this is an Ex Voto or a Mourning Souvenir and it would have been hung in the wall of a church, as a gift to the Saints, in gratitude or fulfilment of a vow. I
