Huge Antique 19th Century Danish Commode, dated 1827

This is a stunning hand painted commode of grand scale, featuring four large drawers and one small "secret drawer" to the top. It has an incredible amount of intricate hand carved details all over, including the removable footed base that the drawers sit on.

It has the date 1827 painted on the front of the secret drawer and hand painted initials on the larger diamond patterned details. Each of the large drawers have pretty brass pull handles, surrounded by a painted floral design and a brass escutcheon to the middle. The original locks are still present but does not have the original key.

Each of the large four drawers have had some professional restoration to the external sides, where they have worn over the years, so that they run smoothly and easily. 

This is an absolute stunner and would make a bold statement in any home.
