Antique Swedish Folk art Bentwood box, circa 1900

Beautiful Swedish Svepask Bentwood Box, with original paint and folk art decoration. This box has been made from a piece of steam bent wood and laced together with birch tree root at the back. The sides have two vertical posts, with notches, used to hold the lid on. These side posts are gently pulled apart to lift the lid off. These bentwood boxes are highly collectible and sought after.
