Antique French Champagne Trugs, from the Vinay region of France
These trugs were used for collecting grapes, for champagne production. The timber on both trugs are well weathered and patinated but lovely and solid. There is the odd minor split in the wood and one trug has a small piece of wood missing from the side, as highlighted in the photos, but these flaws do not affect their use in any way. (The trug featured on the right hand side in the side to side photos is the one with the small hole). Both trugs have the Vineyard owner’s name to both sides in black paint “N.Potier” and have been fully wood worm treated.
These wooden trugs are a lovely large size and would make the most wonderful log baskets, laundry baskets or large planters for the garden or for your Christmas tree
