This early 20th century chinese gathering basket is hand woven from reed and fitted with a bamboo handle. Traditionally used by farmers to carry food from the fields, it offers a window into everyday life in the Chinese countryside. This basket shows age related wear and use, with a few missing strands of reed at the top, but is still in good useable condition. Please study the photographs as they form part of the description. It's the perfect size for a garden trug or for grocery shopping.
