Antique 19th Century French Nut/Olive Oil Terracotta glazed Jug, in good condition.

Beautiful two handled Jug, with pouring spout dated circa 1800's and originating from South West region of France. 

These Jugs are extremely difficult to find now in France. They were traditionally used for storing nut oil in South West France, particularly in Perigord where Nut oil was produced.
Nut oil was used for lighting, in lamps,  for cooking and for producing nut soaps.
