Antique 19th Century Danish Bornhom clock case, circa 1850.
It has its metal clock face attached but not the original clock mechanisms, hands, nor any weights or pendulum. It is being sold purely as a decorative piece but a battery operated mechanism could possibly be added by its new owner if desired.
The beautiful pine case is in its original cream paint with giltwood foliate motif around the clock face and decorative dentil molding on the top and underneath the head of the clock case. Two side windows with giltwood surround are present.
The main body of the clock is flanked by corinthian capital columns and there is a beautiful gilded swag decoration to the base. There is some aged cracking to the original paintwork and paint loss in areas, as highlighted in the photos but this clock case in generally in lovely condition.
I haven't been able to open the very front of the clock, as it appears to be locked but I haven't tried to force this. To be honest, this door does not need to open, due to the fact it doesn't have a pendulum.
Measurements: Height 195cm, Width (at base) 58cm, Depth 25cm
