Pair Beautiful Antique French Louis XVI Chairs from the 19th Century, deconstructed to reveal the cream calico lining. They are ready to be reupholstered or can be used as they are. We are able to recommend a good upholsterer if required. The old green fabric which once adorned this chair has been left on the back on both chairs, as shown in the photograph.
The wooden framework of the chairs have been hand carved in the typical style of the period, with a bow garland detailing to the top. The frame has been scraped back to reveal the old grey white paint, traces of the later darker green paint is evident in areas. The lovely wide seat of the chairs, rest over the four beautiful, tapered fluted legs. Due to their age, both chairs have minor joint separations but are still sturdy and comfortable.
