Antique Swedish Bureau with original paint, from the Dalarna region, dating from the late 18th Century or Early 19th Century. 

This beautiful Bureau has been hand dry scraped back to its original colour of Falu/Falun Red and Swedish Blue. It has its original Gustavian feet, lock and key. The drawers are beautifully solid and in good working order. There is a small drawer with ring handles, directly beneath the lid which conceals two "secret compartments" on either side of it. You can only discover/remove these secret drawers/compartments, by taking out the middle drawer and then tipping the Bureau to one side. It was the perfect way for the owner to hide their treasured items or money. 

Measurements: Height 107cm, Width 98cm, Depth 45cm. Height to lid is 80cm

This Bureau would need to be collected from our shop in Hurst Green, East Sussex or Special Courier Delivery organised.
