Antique 19th Century French Chateau Fabric Fire Screen.

These beautiful firescreens were used to cover the unlit fires in French Chateaux Salons. This one has an abundance of intricate detailing to the handcarved frame, with a floral cluster to the top and very pretty scrolled feet.

There are traces of the original gilt on the beautiful wood frame of this fabulous firescreen with a few nibbles and knocks but this gives it an air of Faded grandeur.  There is one old repair to the left foot, but this is not too noticeable. Old gold damask fabric to the front, with an old wood backing.
