Two beautiful Vintage Japanese kokeshi dolls, originating from north-eastern Japan, circa 1960's/1970's.

These unique wooden dolls, emerged as a folk craft from rural hot spring mountain villages around 150 years ago, to supplement business and keep workers' hands busy during the winter months, much like old Dala horses in Sweden. They are characterised by their elongated limbless bodies, disproportionately large heads and delicate hand-painted features. 

These two dolls both have Japanese writing to the base and are highly collectible.

Available in two sizes and PRICED AND SOLD INDIVIDUALLY
