Antique French Champagne Grape Harvest Baskets

Amazing large antique french baskets, used to collect the grapes from the vineyard, ready for champagne making. Woven wicker with twisted wire supports, two carry handles, wonderful patina to the wicker with original black paint colour, letters "OG", distinguishing the Vineyard, standing on two wooden runners. There are some ancient wood worm holes on the bases and the wicker but both baskets have been fully treated as a precaution.

Place of origin Reims France, Circa 1910. Fabulous size and quality to these beautiful baskets, which are perfect as logs baskets, laundry baskets, shoe storage, toy baskets......whatever you want really!

The baskets are similar in size but the one with the fainter paint mark and letters, is slightly larger, as shown in the measurements below:
