Antique 19th Century Swedish Blanket Chest

These are often referred to as Hope Chests and are usually decorated with initials and date at the front or just inside the lid. This one has the initials B.A.D and the year 1843 painted to the front. It has its original iron strapping, side handles, lock and key. Internally, there are some little compartments and drawers to one side....simply adorable. There is a small piece of wood missing from the bottom at the front but this does not affect its useage at all.

It is the perfect size to go at the end of a bed, to use as a small coffee table or a side table. A very simple but stylish storage trunk..perfect for storing toys or blankets.

The Antique Swedish Wool Throw called an Ullpladar is available to purchase separately.
